Breast Augmentation Las Vegas

Breast augmentation, also called “augmentation mammaplasty,” increases the size and enhances the shape and projection of the female breasts. Because there are many options available with this procedure, and since every woman differs in body type and desired results, each patient at VIP Plastic Surgery is treated with an individualized approach.

An Individualized Approach to Breast Augmentation

Increase Size

The primary goal of breast augmentation is to increase the size of the breasts using either breast implants or fat transfer from one area of the patient’s body to the breasts. Dr. Khorsandi will evaluate each patient’s desires, body shape, and health history to help determine the implant size and surgical technique that will yield the most optimal results.

Correct Asymmetry

Breast asymmetry is very common and can be easily corrected with either method of breast augmentation. A larger implant is inserted into the smaller breast, or more fat is injected in the smaller breast with fat transfer to produce a balanced result. Since saline implants are filled after they are placed within each breast, the volume can be adjusted easily during surgery.

Improve the Position of the Nipple

If the patient has sagging breasts, oversized areolas, or nipples that point downward, Dr. Khorsandi may recommend a breast augmentation combined with a breast lift to alter the position of the nipple. This provides a more youthful, lifted appearance to the breasts. Many mothers choose this combination of procedures to correct the volume loss and sagging that often result from pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Benefits of Breast Augmentation

Whether you have naturally small breasts, deflated breasts, or sagging breasts, breast enhancement surgery can give you a significant boost in confidence.

Women who are dissatisfied with their breast size or need breast revision surgery to correct results from a prior augmentation are usually extremely satisfied with their results.

Types of Breast Implants

Saline implants are silicone shells filled with a sterile salt water (saline) solution. Because saline implants are inserted into the breasts before they are filled, they require a smaller incision than augmentation using silicone implants, and the size of the implants can be easily adjusted and evaluated during surgery. Saline implants are FDA approved for use in women over the age of 18 and for women of any age for breast reconstruction.

Saline Implants

Silicone implants are filled with a silicone-gel material that is said to feel more like natural breasts than saline implants. Silicone implants are less likely to rupture than saline implants, but if rupture does occur, it is more difficult to see and requires an MRI to detect the rupture. Silicone implants are FDA approved for use in women over the age of 22 and for women of any age for breast reconstruction.

Silicone Implants

Cohesive gel implants, also referred to as “gummy bear” implants, are made of a highly cohesive silicone-gel that is thicker than that used in typical silicone implants. These implants are said to feel and appear very natural, with a low occurrence of implant rippling and folding. These implants are usually inserted using either the inframammary or periareolar incision.

Cohesive Gel Implants

Fat is harvested from an area of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, or “love handles,” and is then purified and injected into the breasts for augmentation and shape enhancement. This technique is becoming very popular because it is a holistic approach to breast augmentation. Since it uses the patient’s own fat, there is no concern for rejection.
