How Much Fat Can I Add

What is the most fat that I can add?

Answer:

Many patients choose fat grafting as an option for contouring or augmenting the body in different areas. The amount of fat that can be transferred depends on a number of different factors. The first issue is how much fat do you have to transfer? If you are without donor fat, then you can’t transfer more than what you have. The second issue is what area do you want to fill? The part of the body that you’re adding too has limits in terms of how much fat it can hold. Generally, the most fat we transfer in the buttocks is about 1000-1200 cc per side. Fat grafting to the breasts can vary greatly based on skin laxity from 200 cc to up to 800 cc. In the face, the maximum fat grafting volume is usually 20-25cc per side. These numbers are not fixed but really depend on a third factor. How big do you want to go? The best way to determine this is to have a consultation where we can discuss your goals and examine the limitations discussed above.
