Rejuvenation of Aged Hands with Fat Transfer*

Fat is a versatile tissue that can be used in many parts of the body for restoring volume and giving a more youthful appearance. When a hands become aged, they lose fat, and the tendons become more obvious. In addition hand veins can become more prominent and unsightly. In this patient fat was taken from her waist using the Ultrasonic Liposuction unit called the Vaser and the fat was then transferred to the hands to fill in the areas that were lost. The entire procedure was performed with local anesthesia and the patient was able to return to her office job in 48 hours. The results are long lasting. In this patient the post op pictures were taken over a year later.
