It is possible in some to lift a sagging breast by performing a dual plane dissection of the breast pocket. This is performed by first releasing the breast tissue up to the level of the nipple from the the underlying muscle. Then the muscle is elevated and released along its lower edge. This allows the breast tissue to "sync" better with the implant is patients with a mild degree of sagging. The upper half of the implant is covered by the upper part of the chest muscle, while the lower half of the implant is covered by breast tissue.
