12/19/2019

Rhinoplasty, also known as a “nose job,” is a cosmetic solution for both women and men unhappy with the shape or size of their nose. In addition to the aesthetic benefits, a rhinoplasty procedure has other versatile applications, such as helping improve the functionality of the nose due to an injury or medical need. The main goal of any nose augmentation surgery is to revise the nose while maintaining balance with the other facial features. Working with a plastic surgeon and rhinoplasty specialist like Dr. Christopher Khorsandi can combine the creative touch and medical science behind this complex, delicate procedure to give patients effective, lasting results.

Dr. Christopher Khorsandi is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Las Vegas. Depending on each person’s aesthetic or functional needs, rhinoplasty surgery can be life-changing. Patients sometimes take their time planning and researching this type of cosmetic surgery for years before deciding to proceed; however, once they see their rhinoplasty results, it is often the type of surgery that most patients wish they had done sooner. Do you live in Las Vegas and dislike something about your nose? Then finding the right rhinoplasty specialist like Dr. Khorsandi is an essential first step.

The Right Rhinoplasty Specialist

Everyone has a nose uniquely their own. Your surgeon’s ability can give you excellent rhinoplasty results. This small target area is the only facial feature that has a 3D shape. Minor changes to the nose can significantly impact a person’s appearance. The nose is also comprised of bone, cartilage, and soft tissue, making it an extremely complex structure. Before setting foot in a plastic surgeon’s office, you need to make sure you have chosen a board-certified plastic surgeon with vast surgical experience and knowledge of the facial anatomy. Patients in the Las Vegas area should seek to find a plastic surgeon like Dr. Khorsandi who has years of surgical experience, the right board certifications, and a keen eye for creative detail to sculpt and create the right look.

The Rhinoplasty Solution

A rhinoplasty procedure is not a “one size fits all” type of surgery. The nose is a very prominent but delicate facial feature. Whether a person wants to address a cosmetic concern or has a functional need, there are various techniques and nuances of rhinoplasty that make this a complicated surgery. One of the most common reasons why both women and men consider rhinoplasty is that they dislike some aspect of their nose. While some individuals look to alter the size or shape of their nose, many Las Vegas patients have targeted complaints about specific features.

Working closely with an experienced, qualified plastic surgeon like Dr. Khorsandi will allow him to listen to your concerns and devise the right surgical plan. Rhinoplasty can be the answer to a myriad of cosmetic complaints.

Smoothing out a bump on the bridge of the nose

Narrowing a wide bridge

Straightening out a crooked nose (uneven bridge)

Asymmetrical nose (due to injury or congenital disability)

Correcting the tip of the nose (bulbous, hooked, or upturned)

Using exceptional precision and state-of-the-art techniques, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Khorsandi can address and correct cosmetic needs for patients to achieve dramatic, yet natural-looking results.

A Medical Need for Rhinoplasty

With the ability to address cosmetic complaints, rhinoplasty procedures can also medically improve a patient’s quality of life. Though not as common of concern, complaints with the functionality of the nose like breathing problems don’t go unnoticed. A large number of Las Vegas women and men struggle with a deviated septum or crookedness of the nose. The most common of structural issues, a deviated septum, can inhibit proper breathing. Even small nostrils or a narrow nasal bridge can impact a person’s ability to breathe normally. These breathing issues can affect a person’s sleep patterns at night or be bothersome when engaging in physical activity. Rhinoplasty can improve the function of the nose, so that sleeping or even breathing can improve a person’s quality of life.

Nose Job Day 1 and After

Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure that generally takes 1.5-3.5 hours but varies by patient. A closed surgical method or open rhinoplasty procedure will be determined by Dr. Khorsandi after a thorough consultation. Following the procedure, most patients experience mild-to-moderate discomfort. It is highly recommended that patients sleep with their head elevated for the first 48 hours. Some patients experience bruising under the eyes and may have to wear a nose splint for a period of time. Patients must avoid blowing their nose for the first week of recovery. Strenuous activities should also be avoided for at least 2-3 weeks, and patients cannot wear glasses for 4-5 weeks. Follow-up appointments to check your progress will be scheduled with Dr. Khorsandi, as he and his caring staff will be with you every step of the way.
