For patients with soft-tissue volume loss or contour irregularities, alloClae® offers a minimally invasive option that does not require harvesting fat from your own body. At VIP Plastic Surgery in Las Vegas, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Christopher Khorsandi evaluates each patient personally to determine whether alloClae® is appropriate for their anatomy, goals, and clinical needs.

alloClae® is a human adipose tissue allograft made from donated adipose, or fat, tissue. It is intended to support the repair, replacement, or supplementation of missing or damaged soft tissue.

Unlike traditional autologous fat transfer, alloClae® does not require liposuction to harvest your own fat. The tissue is prepared from screened donor adipose tissue and processed into an injectable adipose matrix that can be placed into carefully selected areas of soft-tissue deficiency or contour irregularity.

Preclinical research has shown that alloClae® retains key adipose extracellular matrix components and can support host tissue integration in laboratory and animal models. Individual clinical outcomes may vary, and Dr. Khorsandi will discuss whether this treatment is appropriate for your specific situation.

The easiest way to understand alloClae® is to compare it with two options many patients already know: dermal fillers and autologous fat transfer.

Synthetic dermal filler Autologous fat transfer alloClae®
Source Lab-made gel Fat harvested from your body Screened donor adipose tissue
Requires liposuction? No Yes No
Best suited for Temporary volume correction in selected areas Larger-volume soft-tissue transfer when enough fat is available Selected soft-tissue deficits or contour irregularities
How it works Occupies space temporarily Transfers your own living fat Provides an adipose tissue matrix for soft-tissue support
Treatment setting Office-based injection Surgical procedure Minimally invasive injection-based procedure

alloClae® may be considered for patients who are not ideal candidates for traditional fat transfer because they do not have enough donor fat, prefer to avoid a harvesting procedure, or require targeted correction of a localized soft-tissue deficit.

It is reasonable to ask where the tissue comes from and how it is prepared.

alloClae® is derived from donated human adipose tissue recovered through FDA-registered tissue banks. Donors are screened and tested according to applicable tissue-safety requirements, and the tissue is processed under standards designed to reduce cellular debris while preserving relevant adipose tissue structure.

As with any human tissue product or injectable procedure, there are risks, including swelling, bruising, tenderness, infection, inflammatory reaction, irregularity, asymmetry, or unsatisfactory cosmetic result. During your consultation, Dr. Khorsandi will review the potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and whether alloClae® is appropriate for your goals.

Regulatory note: alloClae® is regulated as a human cell, tissue, and cellular and tissue-based product, or HCT/P, under Section 361 of the Public Health Service Act and 21 CFR Part 1271. It is not FDA-approved or FDA-cleared as a drug, biologic, medical device, or dermal filler.

Dr. Khorsandi may consider alloClae® for carefully selected patients with:

  • Localized soft-tissue volume deficiency
  • Minor soft-tissue contour irregularities
  • Soft-tissue defects related to aging, weight change, trauma, or prior procedures
  • Targeted areas where autologous fat transfer may not be practical

alloClae® is not intended to replace surgical augmentation procedures such as breast implants, Brazilian butt lift surgery, or large-volume fat transfer. It is best understood as a targeted soft-tissue allograft option for select cases where subtle correction or tissue support is appropriate.

Am I a Good Candidate for alloClae®?

You may be a candidate for alloClae® if you: Have a localized soft-tissue deficit or contour irregularity Want to avoid fat harvesting or are not an ideal fat-transfer candidate Prefer a minimally invasive treatment approach Have realistic expectations about subtle, natural-looking correction Are in good overall health and understand the risks and alternatives The only way to know whether alloClae® is appropriate is through an in-person consultation. Dr. Khorsandi personally evaluates each patient’s anatomy, medical history, and treatment goals before making a recommendation.

alloClae® treatment is performed in our Las Vegas–area office as a minimally invasive injection-based procedure. After reviewing your goals and marking the area of concern, Dr. Khorsandi places the prepared adipose tissue allograft into precise areas of soft-tissue deficiency or contour irregularity.

Because alloClae® does not require liposuction or a separate donor site, treatment is typically more streamlined than autologous fat transfer. The exact appointment time, amount of tissue used, and recovery expectations will depend on the area treated and the complexity of the correction.

What to Expect: Results & Recovery

Some early change may be visible after treatment, although swelling and tissue response can affect the initial appearance. Final results may develop gradually as swelling resolves and the treated tissue settles.

Most patients experience minimal downtime. Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, firmness, or minor irregularity at the injection site can occur. Dr. Khorsandi will provide individualized aftercare instructions based on the area treated.

As with any aesthetic or reconstructive procedure, results are not guaranteed and may vary from patient to patient.

I had the best experience with Dr. Khorsandi and couldn’t be happier with my results — both from my breast augmentation and my lip filler. From the very first consultation, he made me feel completely comfortable, heard, and confident in my decision. His bedside manner is truly exceptional and he never rushes you. What really stood out was how knowledgeable and professional Dr. Khorsandi is. He clearly knows his craft and took the time to explain every step of the process, answer all my questions, and make sure my goals were understood and met beautifully. The follow-up care was just as impressive. He checked in consistently, made sure my healing was on track, and was always available if I had concerns.I also want to mention the entire office staff. Every single person was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. They truly take care of you and make you feel comfortable and supported from start to finish. And most importantly… my results look AMAZING. They fit my body perfectly and are exactly what I hoped for (if not better)!!!!!!If you’re considering any cosmetic procedure, I cannot recommend Dr. Khorsandi and his team enough.
