What is Capsular Contracture? Capsular contracture is a reaction that occurs in some patients that causes the breast implant pocket to harden. The rate of capsular contracture varies but the risk is between 1% to 3%. This patient had surgery with another surgeon in the community and was not happy with her result. She needed a revision and a removal of the capsular contracture.
