Am I An Ideal Candidate for Laser Acne Treatment With AviClear or Isolaz?

Individuals both young and old can suffer from mild to severe acne. Las Vegas, NV men and women who live with active acne commonly have painful pustules, blackheads, or clogged pores that crop up on different parts of the body. Laser acne treatment with AviClear or Isolaz is a good selection for people who have tried different treatments, like medications, topical creams, or face washes. Laser treatments at VIP Plastic Surgery aim help patients achieve supple skin by stopping oil and dead skin buildup. During your first visit, we will carefully assess your skin and acne to figure out if you are a possible fit for one of our two offered technologies.

How Laser Acne Treatment Works

AviClear

AviClear utilizes laser light energy to treat acne at the source by targeting the sebaceous glands, which produce the oily substance — sebum — that combines with dead skin cells to produce acne. After consultation and confirmation that AviClear is right for you, Dr. Khorsandi or a team member will clean the treatment area and begin to use the AviClear device. You may feel a snapping sensation when the AviClear laser is used on your skin. However, AviClear is also equipped with the AviCool system, which means you won’t feel the heat from the device.

Isolaz

Isolaz uses advanced light technology to treat the skin without oral medications or slow-acting skin care products. Dr. Khorsandi and the team and VIP Plastic Surgery can treat patients with Isolaz in about 30 minutes as the special vacuum cleans acne spots and impurities. Once a spot has been treated, a broadband light destroys any remaining bacteria, which will prevent future acne. After the Isolaz treatment, Dr. Khorsandi or a team member will apply a topical ointment to the patient’s opened pores to replenish the skin and extend the effects of the treatment. Patients will see the results within 24-48 hours after the treatment.

What to Expect

Dr. Khorsandi or an experienced member of his team performs Isolaz and AviClear treatments in a minor procedures room at VIP Plastic Surgery. A treatment usually takes 30 minutes and the patient will have no pain or recovery period and can drive back home following the laser procedure. Isolaz and AviClear do not specifically create skin sensitivity to sunlight, but Dr. Khorsandi recommends avoiding significant sun exposure for several days following either laser treatment. Most patients will see the best results after 4 – 6 treatments with Isolaz and after three monthly sessions with AviClear, but each case varies depending on the amount of acne and the size of the area being treated.

Expected Cost

A single session of Isolaz laser acne treatment costs $200-$500, on average. For AviClear, the cost comes in at about $1,000 per session. Dr. Khorsandi or a member of the VIP Plastic Surgery team will discuss the amount of treatments needed to achieve the patient’s best results.

I’m eternally grateful for Doc Vegas and Mel. They have completely changed my skin and confidence. So incredibly knowledgeable and professional. They came up with a plan to fix my acne caused by an autoimmune condition. I’ve been to many dermatologists and doctors and no one took the time to help me like they did. I would leave more stars if I could!!

I really enjoyed my experience here, I went in requesting a microneedling session for acne and scarring (no idea what I needed) and was pleasently surprised to learn more than expected. I was encouraged to have a more affective facial and laser treatment to clear the acne first and then in time move forward with microneedling after my acne is addressed. I didn't feel pressured into buying more things or spending more money, I felt taken care of. I was with Jacqui from the moment she greated me at the door. She is absolutely lovely. I enjoyed her energy and overall professionalsm. I felt listened to and understood. I am excited to go on my skin journey with her!

So I am updating my review and I'm still giving everyone a 5+ star rating! I did the fraxel on Monday and it's Sunday evening and yes I am still pink but the results are amazing! My hyper pigmentation and most of my texture is gone! I also received a chin implant with Dr K on Wednesday so I'm still swollen with that but I know I'm going to love the result of that as well! Again I need to give a shout put to Mel for being a beast with a laser! She is my go to when it comes to my aesthetic needs and also Dr K for giving me confidence with my profile. I just wish the swelling would go down faster! lol damn lack of patience. Well I now have a laundry list of other things I would like to tweak. And I know VIP is the place I can trust and know I'll get the best work done!

Do laser acne treatments hurt?

No, most people don't find a laser acne treatment session painful. Because the advanced AviClear device includes an integrated cooling system, patients generally only feel a light "snapping" sensation. This makes the procedure more comfortable than other laser treatments and post-treatment pain relievers are typically unnecessary. Although most say is isn't needed, we can provide a topical anesthetic to further enhance your comfort.

What makes an AviClear laser acne treatment different?

Other laser acne treatments only treat some of the causes of acne. AviClear targets the root cause of acne outbreaks — the sebaceous gland. The sebaceous gland is what produces sebum, the oily substance that helps protect your skin. Overproduction of sebum can lead to clogged pores and acne when it combines with dirt and dead skin cells. AviClear laser treatments work to normalize your skin's production of sebum and reduce acne outbreaks.

How long does a laser acne treatment take?

An AviClear laser acne treatment is very quick and effective. Depending on what area is being treated and the size of the treatment area, most treatment sessions only take about 30 minutes.

When will I see results?

In studies done with the AviClear device, almost 90% of patients treated achieved dramatically clearer skin in about six months after their last treatment session. Depending on their skin's reaction to the treatment, some patients can experience results even sooner. Typically, these results continue to improve for months after the last treatment.
