What is Thermage?
Las Vegas, NV board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Christopher Khorsandi offers numerous laser treatments to address wrinkled, aging skin. One of his most popular treatments is radiofrequency skin tightening using the Thermage laser system by Solta Medical. A Thermage treatment can soften fine lines, smooth wrinkles, and tighten the skin for gradual improvements that result in taut, youthful skin. Used on both the face and body, Thermage implements radiofrequency energy to stimulate the body’s production of collagen and increase the skin’s overall thickness. The procedure does not require anesthesia or sutures, nor does it result in any major downtime. We invite you to call VIP Plastic Surgery to learn more about this innovative laser system, as well as discover the other nonsurgical treatments we offer to fight aging skin and produce a more youthful appearance.
"So I am updating my review and I'm still giving everyone a 5+ star rating! I did the fraxel on Monday and it's Sunday evening and yes I am still pink but the results are amazing! My hyper pigmentation and most of my texture is gone! I also received a chin implant with Dr K on Wednesday so I'm still swollen with that but I know I'm going to love the result of that as well! Again I need to give a shout put to Mel for being a beast with a laser! She is my go to when it comes to my aesthetic needs and also Dr K for giving me confidence with my profile. I just wish the swelling would go down faster! lol damn lack of patience. Well I now have a laundry list of other things I would like to tweak. And I know VIP is the place I can trust and know I'll get the best work done!"- V.B. / Yelp / Feb 18, 2017

"I have had the best experience at VIP Plastic surgery. Melanie is the "Master Esthetician". She is knowledgeable and on top of the latest new trends with lasers, skin care, etc. I will be going to her for all my upkeep work on maintaining a youthful face and neck. And especially with the removal of a few tattoos with the "Picosure Laser". She is a complete doll! *Before and After* *1 session of the picosure laser treatment *"- N.C. / Yelp / Oct 20, 2019

Thermage Procedure Process
Thermage skin rejuvenation heats the skin to the optimum temperature to stimulate the production of collagen. Prior to undergoing a Thermage treatment, we will mark the targeted areas, apply a cool gel to the surface of the skin, and gently roll the skin with a small circular handpiece that emits radiofrequency waves. Thermage skin rejuvenation can be used on the face, neck, stomach, upper inner arms, legs, thighs, and buttocks. In areas such as the legs, the treatment is performed to treat cellulite imperfections, while loose skin and surface wrinkles are targeted in the facial regions.
What To Expect with Thermage
Thermage skin treatment sessions are performed directly inside our plastic surgery center at VIP Plastic Surgery. There is minimal to no discomfort throughout the procedure. In most cases, the patient will feel the skin heating and then cooling. Although redness and minor tingling in the treated areas are common, patients undergoing this treatment can resume normal activity quickly. Results start appearing within a few hours of treatment and the full effect is usually revealed in a couple of months, and can be long-lasting as long as the patient adheres to a healthy lifestyle and skin routine.
Plan Your Procedure
- Procedure Recovery Location
Thermage skin rejuvenation is a procedure that improves loose skin and wrinkles. It is not a treatment for weight loss, and does not necessarily affect the texture or surface irregularities like pigmentation, discoloration or age spots. Individuals who are not comfortable with a surgical procedure such as a facelift but still hope to slow down the visible signs of aging, may likely benefit from this technique. Patients with excessive loose and sagging skin will be better candidates for a body contouring surgical procedure.
How Long do the Results Last?
The results following Thermage skin rejuvenation can last up to 2 years. Like many other non-invasive anti-aging skin treatments, Thermage treatments can be repeated per your practitioner’s discretion. Due to reasons like this, Thermage has become a popular choice among both patients and surgeons.
How Many Treatments?
This depends on the condition of your skin, the results you wish to attain, age and the size of the area being treated. In general, it could take as few as 4 – 6 treatments for the face and upward of 10 – 15 treatments for the body. For optimal results, ongoing maintenance sessions are recommended.
Isn’t This Similar to a Lift?
While it is sometimes touted as a liquid facelift, the honest answer is no. While Thermage treatments stimulate collagen and tightens underlying structures, which result in a firmer skin appearance, a surgical facelift will produce a more dramatic effect. Patients may want to consider a treatment such as Thermage skin rejuvenation prior to undergoing a surgical procedure.
